- Jardis 2000. The JADIS
system is currently used by the Jordanian Department of Antiquities
(JDOA) as well as archaeologists and historians working in Jordan to
store and retrieve information about archaeological sites, from the
Paleolithic period through the modern era. The database was originally
developed by Dr. Gaetano Palumbo in the early 1990s, at the American
Center of Oriental Research (ACOR).
- TimeMap. TimeMap TMJava
is a novel mapping applet which generates complete interactive maps
with a few simple lines of html. It provides a way of easily enriching
web pages with historical or contemporary information that goes far
beyond static jpg map images. It's easy for beginners, yet provides
completely customisable power and distributed backend database connectivity
for the expert. It's free for personal use.
- COFLEIN. Coflein
is the online database for the National Monuments Record of Wales (NMRW)
- the national collection of information about the historic environment
of Wales. Coflein contains details of many thousands of archaeological
sites, monuments, buildings and maritime sites in Wales, together with
an index to the drawings, manuscripts and photographs held in the NMRW
archive collections.
- Plot (also
called NewPlot)
Plot is a Windows based GIS for working with piece provenienced artifact
data (replaces the CC-Plot DOS program). It allows a user to map any
group of squares or levels, to color code the map by artifact type or
level, and to link the artifacts on this map to their respective records
in associated tables.
- ArcTron
Co. - Software for Archaeology and Heritage. ArchaeoCAD is an application
for AutoCAD, from AutoDesk. ArchaeoMAP and ArchaeoDATA 2004 (an application
for MS Access 2000) can be used to create archaeological mapping, a
process which is largely automated. The resulting mapping can then be
transferred to ArchaeoDTM and used to generate three dimensional terrain
models.
- AZP_Max
2002. The following computer programs have been developed in Poznan
Archaeological Museum to assist basic archaeological work, and heritage
management work in particular.
- Proleg StratiGraf
is the complete framework for field archaeologists that allows you to
record, document, analyse and interpret archaeological sites. It integrates
in a single place field registration data, photography, bibliography,
artifacts inventory, the archaeological drawing and the harris matrix,
creating thus, a real Digital Model of the excavation . The model provides
you with a vision of what the site is really like and therefore the
ability to act and interpret based on totally reliable information.
